On Wednesday he flies to Brazil for the 125000+H Sao Paulo Challenger Tournament which starts 4th January...The week after he will play another tournament in South America in Ecuador. Franky is in China!!! He is taking part at the China Open in Beijing. At the ATP Event Franky also plays singles in qualification where he already won his first match today against Zhe Li from China 6-4,6-3. Franky helped his team in Eupen, Belgium with a win in singles and doubles today…

Franky has a few rough hours behind him…he was already checked in for his flight to Italy where he was supposed to team up with Daniel Koellerer again…but Daniel hurt himself in the finals of Como and cannot play next week…so Franky rearranged and is now playing the tournament in Duesseldorf on the side of Leonardo Azzaro from Italy! Luckily Franky had not flown to Italy yet…

It is Franky's fifth title in the last 12 months where two of them are now on the side of Daniel Koellerer. Franky's new ranking should be around 90...

Franky has a rough day. First he wins his singles semi finals 4-6,6-2,6-2. A much tougher match then expected where his opponent played very well! Then him and Anthony win the quarters in doubles 6-4,7-5 and after win the semis in doubles 6-3,6-4 to advance to the finals! Already at 10am tomorrow morning Franky will play the finals in singles and doubles after that.Hopefully Franky will have some power left!:)

The last couple days were chaotic! First Franky spend all day to get back home from Tunis. Then after one night home he spent all day again to make it to Ukraine for the 125000+H challenger in Dnepropetrovsk. Franky's flight got cancelled and after arriving 3am on Monday morning the supervisor put him on schedule that same day. Franky plays terrible and he and his partner Tomasz Bednarek from Poland lose 0-6,4-6 against Yuri Schukin from Russia and Viktor Troicki from Serbia. Now he made it home save after another day of traveling! Therefore, Franky is exhausted and needs a rest:)

Franky and Ivan get the title!!!:) First they beat Michel Koning from Holland Lamine Ouahab from Algeria 7-5,6-4 to advance to the finals! Then they beat Jasper Smit and Martijn van Haasteren from Holland 4-6,7-5,11-9. Ivan and Franky defended 5 straight match points after being down 4-9 in the supertiebreaker to win the tournament!!!:)

How unlucky can you be?! All the luck Franky had yesterday in his match against Tobias Klein was gone today as he was unlucky to lose very close 2-6,6-1,6-7(6) against Benjamin Rufer from Switzerland. Franky is also struggling with arm problems now supposedly from the terrible balls used in the tournament.
The good news of today is that Franky and his partner Giuseppe Menga from Italy advance to the semi finals in doubles! They beat Patrick Eichenberger and Alexander Sadecky from Switzerland 7-6(0),6-1. Tomorrow they face Manuel Kost and Swen Swinnen from Switzerland.

Franks is playing doubles this week on the side of Marcus Sarstrand from Sweden.
They had to go through qualifying where they won two rounds today!:)
First against Vladimir Pavicevic and David Savic from Serbia 6-2,6-3.
And then 6-4, 2-6,13-11 against the brothers Ivo and Jan Minar from Czech. Franky served and returned really well in both matches...tomorrow they will play against Frank Dancevic from Canada and Sasa Tuksar from Croatia...

This year a third set super-tiebreaker up to ten points will be played instead of a third set in doubles, which explains the 13-11 score on the match against the Czech guys.

We are sorry for the long time without any updates. Some technical problems from the server gave us a hard time, but now it looks like all problems are solved!:)

In the meanwhile Franky played some good tennis in Helsinki, Finland. First he beat Eric Butorac from USA when he won two tiebreakers and a very close match 3-6,7-6(6),7-6(4). After he lost to second seed Jacob Adaktusson from Sweden in a good match 7-6(0),1-6,6-7(3). In that match Franky had an unlucky end.

In doubles Franky and his partner Sebastian Rieschick from Germany made it to the quarter finals where they lost to number one seed Yves Allegro from Switzerland and Michael Kohlmann from Germany 4-6,3-6. Before that they beat a Finish team 6-1,3-6,6-3.

Franky flew today from Finland to England where he is getting ready for the qualies of the 25000+H challenger in Sunderland which starts this Sunday.

Great end for Franky and his team in Karlsruhe! Franky won his singles and doubles when his team managed to stay in the First Bundesliga with a 4-5 against 1. FC Nürnberg. Franky won his singles against Daniel Dolbea from Germany 7-6(6),5-7,6-3 and his doubles on the side of Sebastian De Chaunac from France against Javier Garcia-Sintes from Spain and Johannes Matschke from Germany 6-4,6-0.
If Franky's wrist is going the way we hope then he will be back in action this weekend at the challenger tournament in Freudenstadt, Germany not far away from his home Baden-Baden.

Today Franky and his team Karlsruhe Ruppurr had a big 7-2 win over TC Max Aicher Piding in the First Bundesliga. Franky helped with a 6-2,6-4 win in doubles on the side of Steve Darcis from Belgium against Andreas Vinciguerra from Sweden and Richard Maier from Germany.
On Sunday Karlsruhe Ruppurr and Franky will be the underdogs when they play at home against Gruen Weiss Mannheim who are undefeated this year.

Last weekend, Franky and his team Karlsruhe Ruppurr had to suffer two losses. Against Blau Weiss Halle 2-7 where Franky lost his singles against Nicolas Devilder (ATP 192) 5-7,3-6. Yesterday against Rochusclub Duesseldorf Franky was close against Daniel Gimeno from Spain (ATP 182) but lost 7-6(5),4-6,3-6 in rainy conditions. The team ended up losing 1-8. Franky is not playing a tournament this week since his wrist is still not ready for more matches.

Franky is back in playing matches...yesterday he played in the Bundesliga with Karlsruhe against Blau Weiss Neuss where he lost his singles 6-7(7),2-7 against Tobias Summerer from Germany. In doubles he won on the side of Gabriel Trujilo 6-4,7-6(6) against Fred Hemmes from Holland and Tobias Clemens from Germany.
Franky is already in Leun, Germany at his next tournament where he plays tomorrow against David Klier from Germany.

Good news from Wolfsburg. Franky won two close matches today. First he beat Daniel Hoeppner from Germany 2-6,6-3,6-2 and then he beat Kevin Sorensen from Ireland 6-3,6-7(2),6-4. Tomorrow Franky will play last round qualies against Philipp Schuenemann from Germany.

Today Franky won his first round against former ATP 53 Jan Kroslak from Slovakia 7-5,6-1. In the second round Franky had to play again today and lost after a long fight to Andreas Seppi (ATP 141) from Italy 7-6(5),4-6,3-6. Supposedly Franky was a little tired in the last set which was his fifth set of the day. Franky is still in doubles. Him and his partner Davide Sanguinetti from Italy face Andy Bek and Ivo Klec from Germany in the first round.

Franky lost his match against Daniel Koellerer (ATP 202) in the Australian Open 4-6,3-6. Franky arrived this morning at 7am after a 28 hour trip and had to play the same day. It looks like he was too tired to serve the way he is known for. Franky is flying back to Germany this Sunday or Monday with a good experience of playing a Grand Slam; hopefully many more to come in the future...

The Challenger in Guadalajara, Mexico was Franky's last tournament of the year 2004. At the moment Franky is spending a few days in Houston. He will fly back to Germany this Monday or Tuesday to spend a few weeks with his family and friends in Baden-Baden.

Despite Franky fights against fewer and the flu he still won his first round match in the Challenger in Guadalajara, Mexico 6-3,6-4 against Bruno Rodriguez from Mexico. On Thursday it looks like Franky will face former top ten player (ATP 6) Nicolas Lapentti from Ecuador. 
In doubles Franky and his partner Richard Barker lost against number three seed Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo from Spain and Sergio Roitman from Argentina 4-6,7-5,6-7(2).

Important win for Franky in Brazil. In the first round of the 50000 Dollar Copa Petrobras Challenger in Aracaju he defeated Lucas Engel 6-3,6-1 to advance to the second round where he will face number one seed Santiago Ventura (ATP 103) from Spain this Thursday.

An amazing season has ended in Karlsruhe Ruppurr. In the last second and the 4-5 success against Gruen Weiss Mannheim Ruppurr stays in the First Bundesliga. Franky supported his team with a win in doubles together with Manolo Jorquera against Juan-Antonio Marin and Dirk Dier 6-2,6-3.
Not much time for partying though, Franky is now on his way to Italy where he will play his first round in a future this Tuesday.

Surprising win of Franky's team Karlsruhe Ruppurr against Gruen-Weiss Mannheim. Ruppurr was down 2-4 after the singles to fight back and win three doubles to make it 5-4. Franky lost his singles against Markus Hantschk from Germany 5-7,4-6. In doubles Franky proved his form. Manolo Jorquera and him beat Oscar Serrano and Juan-Antonio Marin both from Spain 6-3,6-1.

Franky and his partner Sebastien De-Chaunac got the only point for the team when they won the doubles against Martin Vassallo-Arguello from Argentina and Santiago Ventura from Spain 6-7,6-4,6-0. In singles Franky lost 4-6,3-6 against Alessio Di Mauro. This weekend will be the last two matches for the team. After that Franky will start back on tour with a tournament in Bolzano, Italy.

Sensational 5-4 win of Franky's team Karlsruhe Ruppurr against German Bundesliga Champion Blau Weiss Sundern! After the singles at 3-3 Franky and his partner Sebastien De-Chaunac won one of the two deciding doubles against Albert Montanes (ATP 83) from Spain and Tomas Behrend (ATP 117) from Germany 7-6(4), 6-2 Franky lost his singles against German Davis Cup player Alexander Waske 2-6,4-6. The win over Sundern is Karlsruhe Ruppurr's first win over a current Bundesliga Champion ever in the history of the club. The next two games will be this coming Friday and Sunday in Blau Weiss Neus and Kurhaus Aachen.

Franky will not play any tournaments this week and practice the week with his team in Karlsruhe Ruppurr. This coming sunday the team has its first match in the 1.Bundesliga against Kurhaus Aachen.

Franky and Bernie advance to semi finals in Oberstaufen with a 6-4,6-7(5),6-2 win over Yuri Schukin and Andrei Stoliarov from Russia. Tomorrow they will play Vadim Davletshin and Alexandre Koudriavtsev from Russia.

After a long day with rain delays Franky got stopped by Simon Greul from Germany 1-6,4-6. Due to the bad weather the doubles got moved to tomorrow.

Franky won second round qualies today against Kevin Sorensen 6-3,6-0. He lost his last round qualies match though in a close match to Simon Greul 6-2,3-6,3-6. Franky is still in doubles where he will play on the side of his teammate Francisco Costa from Brazil. They will play on Wednesday against Teimuraz Gabashvili from Russia and Aleksey Malajko from Germany.

The last days have been really busy! Franky could not go to Holland to play the grass court event and went to England instead to play in Nottingham. Franky just got back to Baden-Baden and will drive to Leun tomorrow to play the Future tournament there. The tournament starts on Tuesday.

Franky and Sebastian win the tournament in doubles. They beat Gouram Kostava from Georgia and Ramin Raziani from Iran 3-6,6-3,6-2 to get the title. Franky is supposed to fly back tonight and play a grass court ATP event in Holland this Saturday...

Franky gets stopped in quarter finals by Mohammed Al Ghareeb. This time in a close match 2-6,6-4,4-6. Franky and Sebastian won the doubles though against the Indian team they lost to last week 6-3,6-4. Tomorrow afternoon they will play the finals against Gouram Kostava from Georgia and Ramin Raziani from Iran...

Franky and Sebastian won again in doubles defeating Alex and Ivo Klec 4-6,7-6(3),6-4. Tomorrow Franky will play Mohammed Al Ghareeb from Kuwait who today beat Sebastian his doubles partner and who Franky lost to last week. Hopefully this week will be a different story. Also tomorrow afternoon will be the semi final in doubles against Rohan Bopanna and Mustafa Ghouse from India. The two lost to those guys in the finals last week.

Franky won his first round. Somov did not show up for the match so he beat Ali Al Ghareeb from Kuwait who was lucky loser 6-2,6-1. Tomorrow morning Franky will play second round against Gilles Kremer from Luxemburg. Later in the afternoon Franky will play doubles with Sebastian against Alex and Ivo Klec from Germany.

Franky will play first round tomorrow morning against Andrei Somov from Russia. Today Franky and Sebastian advanced already to the second round in doubles by defeating a wild card team   6-1,6-3.

Today Franky lost his singles 3-6,4-6. "I still miss so many easy balls. Plus I was not happy with the referee at all today! It is tough to play locals here I guess. I am starting to feel better though, at least I won a few matches, even though my opponents weren't that good really," he said after the match. Franky is still playing doubles later on today...

Franky won his match this afternoon 6-3,6-4. Now he will play Kuwait's number one player Mohammed Al Ghareeb. The match is set for 3pm. In doubles Franky and Sebastian are up 6-2,0-4 when the match got suspended because of darkness.

Franky did not waste much time on the court this morning and won his match 6-0,6-1 against Abdul Rahman Bourhama from Kuwait. Franky is in the main draw now where he will play this Tuesday against Ahmed Rabea from Kuwait. Franky also competes in doubles where he will be in action tomorrow with Sebastian Fitz from Germany on his side. The two will play qualifiers.

Franky is in Kuwait now. Supposedly it is very hot there, just like Franky likes it. Since he is seeded three Franky has a bye in the first round qualies so he will play his first match this sunday.

Change of plans! Franky will not go to Tallahassee, he will go to Kuwait to play two $15000 futures instead. He will be in qualies the first tournament since he is not entered in the tournament, and he will be in main draw the second week. He has a flight this Thursday.

Franky will drive to Taschkent tomorrow and spend one night there before he flies back home this Saturday. His next tournament is supposed to be in Tallahassee, Florida, but that is not sure yet...

Franky and his Japanese partner Toshihide Matsui get stopped in semi-finals by Harsh Mankad from India and Aisam Qureshi from Pakistan. Franky and Toshi played a good match but lost close 1-6,6-7(4) The two fought back a double break in the second set but eventually lost 6-7.

The internet seemed to have stalled in Uzbekistan, but certainly not Franky, who today sent us a message via cell phone that they advanced to the semi-finals with a straight 6-2,6-2 win. Now they will face the number one seeded team.

Franky is still playing the doubles event in Uzbekistan. Today he and his partner Toshihide Matsui from Japan advanced to the quaterfinal with a win over number four seed Vadim Kutsenko from Uzbekistan and Michail Elgin from Russia. The two won their match 6-4,6-2. Next round will be tomorrow against Pavel Ivanov and Dimitri Sitak from Russia.

Franky lost his first round 3-6, 3-6. “I still don’t feel that comfortable on the court, I just make way too many unforced errors. I guess it will just take time. Also, San Remo was my first tournament on clay. Hopefully next week it will be a different story,” he said.

Franky and Bernard advance to semifinal by defeating number one seed Mustafa Ghouse and Harsh Mankad from India. The two were down matchpoint in the second set to fight back and win  6-7(5),7-6(7),6-3
"I am really happy today. I played much better allready, especially the return was good. I think through doubles I can win back my confidence for singles," Franky said.
Semifinal will be tomorrow later afternoon...

Franky and his partner defeat Ivo Minar from Czech and Leonardo Tavares from Portugal. Minar has a shoulder injury and retired after Franky and Bernard won the first set 6-4.

Franky lost his first round 3-6,3-6. "I felt completely clueless on the court today. I still feel rusty. I guess I just need to play some matches now," Franky said about the match. "I guess my comeback was still successful since I had no pain. I am really happy about that," he added. Franky is still in doubles with his friend Bernard Parun. They will play tomorrow...

Franky will be playing his first round match tonight. It was heard that Franky is suffering some kind of heat exhaustion. Let's hope he will be alright. He is playing last match of the day when the heat is gone, that should help him. His opponent is Alexandre Renard from France.

Franky arrived yesterday in Qatar and had his first day at practice there.
Franky seems to like it in Doha where he will play his first tournament after an eight months injury timeout. "The conditions here are perfect! The weather is awesome, between 35-40 degree Celsius, the courts are nice, the food is good, and the people are very friendly. Two times a taxi driver did not even want our money! Unfortunately, I got pretty bad sunburned," he responded on how he likes it in Qatar.

Franky will make his comeback in Qatar. He will play two $15000 Futures starting 19th and 26th April. The tournaments will be held at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex in Doha, Qatar.
 
Franky is planning on flying there a little early to prepare on the hardcourts and to get ready for the hot conditions over there. His flight is next Tuesday April 13.

Franky confirms deal with racket and clothing company Topspin! Franky will be wearing Topspin clothes and shoes from now on. "I really like their stuff. It looks real nice and also it is high quality," Franky said. "I am looking forward to play with Topspin when I come back," he added.

Franky will be back in action in the tournament week of April 19. Franky was not sure where that will be yet.

Franky's final comeback date is set! Franky can and will start playing again in the tournament week of April 19 with a protected ranking. His protected ranking will be 355 in singles and 346 in doubles. "My protected ranking is not where it should be, but for sure it is better than nothing and it will help me go back up there quick again," Franky said.  Right now Franky is practicing back home.

Franky just got back to Baden-Baden after a week of hard practice in Neheim.

Franky is still in Baden-Baden. Doctors are optimistic that Franky can start again mid April with a protected ranking! Franky will go to Neheim to practice with the WSM-Tennis-Team for the next week.

Franky made it back to Baden-Baden, spending some time with his family at home. Franky has an important doctor appointment this Wednesday in Heidelberg trying to figure out what is next. Let us see what the doctors say. Maybe Franky can come back with a protected ranking after his injury is overcome?!

Franky is in Richmond again. He was still not ready to play so he did not go to Joplin. Franky is supposed to fly back home around Tuesday. It seems like we finally figured out what the real problem with his elbow is so he can at least treat specifically now...

Franky is in Dallas. His arm was not good enough to be able to play the tournament. Franky is getting treatment at the tournament though and practicing there. A good chiropractor is helping him and it seems like it is getting better...hopefully Franky can compete again soon! maybe at the next tournament in Joplin, Missouri.

Franky is flying to Dallas, Texas. He is supposed to play his first tournament there, a $50000 challenger. Franky did not sound to convinced about his injuries though. For sure the warm weather in Dallas should help a little, as there was a snow chaos in Richmond.

Franky is now practicing in Richmond. He is hoping to compete at the tournament in Dallas next weekend.

15.Jan 2004:
Franky started practicing again in the last weeks. He will fly to Richmond this Monday to practice with his former coach and teammates from Virginia Commonwealth University. Franky wants to overcome his arm and shoulder problems there and go straight to tournaments after that. Franky was injured for almost 6 months. His first tournaments will be either the future in Key Biscayne or the challenger in Dallas.

Franky's team Ruppurr to play 1.Bundesliga in 2004! The team of Ruppurr finished second in 2.Bundesliga last year and due to the withdrawl of ETUF Essen Ruppurr moves up to 1.Bundesliga.
"The whole team is looking forward to this season. That's awesome," Franky said.
Also Marko Neunteibl will join the team again in the 2004 season.

Franky confirms deal with Tennis Club Ruppurr for 2004 season. "I am looking forward to play my sixth straight year in the team at Ruppurr," Franky said. Franky's teammates Jeroen Masson, Francisco Costa, Gabriel Trujilo and Thorsten Wolff signed their contracts for next year already. The youngsters Chrissy Mueller, Thomas Frank and Filip French will support the team as well. Ruppurr is still looking for a few other players to help the team.

Franky is currently taking a rest and is visiting some friends in San Francisco and his brother Jochen in Houston :) Franky will be back in Germany this Monday.

Franky is ranked 24th in the new German ranking released this Monday. Despite the long injury timeout Franky moved up seven spots in the rankings.

Franky is currently at home getting treatment for his arm. He has been struggling a lot and spending most of his time running from doctor to doctor. His last match without pain was back in August in Uzbekistan where Frank Moser beat former German Davis Cup Champion Marc Kevin Goellner. With his win there he jumped into the top 300 in singles. (288)


Franky is supposed to be back in action no later then January. He is now concentrating on his fitness so that he will come back even fitter and with new motivation!
